Will it work with both iPhone and Android?

Yes. Our free mobile app supports iOS 15+ and Android 10+. Both upload in the background, even when the app is closed.

Can the device handle RAW photos and 4K videos?

Absolutely. Sky Archive stores RAW, HEIC, JPEG, PNG, MP4, MOV, and more. Built-in hardware decoding lets you play videos smoothly.

What happens if I run out of space?

Just plug in another USB or NAS drive. Sky Archive instantly expands—no formatting or data migration needed. You can grow up to 100 TB.

Is remote access secure?

Remote viewing uses end-to-end encryption and a private relay key. You can switch remote access off entirely for local-only use.

Can multiple family members have separate accounts?

Yes. Create unlimited user profiles—each with personal upload keys, private albums, and individual sharing controls.

How long does on-device AI indexing take?

About 5,000 photos per hour on the included hardware. It runs once in the background; new uploads are indexed instantly after that.

What if the device ever fails?

The SSD is enterprise-grade, but you can schedule automatic backups to an external drive or a second Sky Archive unit for full redundancy. We also offer optional onsite support.

Does it back up Live Photos and Burst shots?

Yes—those special formats are stored exactly as they are on your phone, with audio and motion preserved.

How many phones and computers can connect?

Unlimited. Add as many devices as you like at no extra cost.
